According to Hagues, Randburg's appeal to commercial and industrial enterprises lies in its strategic positioning. "As well as being close to residential areas, it boasts easy access to various highways, as well as to Sandton and Lanseria Airport." To this, Jones adds that businesses in Randburg have the convenience of accessibility. "If your business is based in Randburg, you have quick access to a variety of main roads and you are within Johannesburg's Ring Road," he explained. "Being situated in a densely populated area, it offers businesses easy access to commuters."
The difference between Randburg and Sandton
When asked what a company should weigh up when choosing between Randburg and Sandton as a home base, Jones points out that Randburg and Sandton cater for two different niches. "The Sandton roads have a gridlock design, whereas Randburg has a circular shape that allows for a free flow of traffic," explained Jones. "Randburg is the more aesthetically attractive of the two and it allows larger spaces for both industrial warehousing and commercial businesses. In short, it caters for the needs of a broader spectrum of clients."
A final point made by Hagues is that Randburg offers greater value for money than Sandton. "Rental amounts and purchase prices are often lower," she commented. "This gives companies more scope and flexibility to find premises that meet their needs."
